As the summer is here; it is the perfect timing to be able to introduce the next upcoming release for my label 'Ashanti Selah Music' and with it being a special collaborative one - we are certainly not holding back on the versions on this one at all!

Presenting the first link-up of the next generation, it brings great pleasure to introduce to you all a good friend of mine who goes by the name of 'Mali Blakamix', and to many of you who may not know, he is the son of the great Dennis Mixman outta Blakamix International, which leads to no surprise of this release having its own stamp of originality and a heavy inspired use of studio effects being pushed to the limit creating a higher-level multitude world of DUB!

Mali and I had first linked up 7 years ago with a mutual passion and growth in Roots music by both our families involvement in the scene and have been fortunate enough to have been immersed into the grounded teachings of the culture as well as being given the opportunity to emerge our own expression that can become an involvement and continuation to the legacies set by our families and many of the great foundation artists & producers that we aspire to with utmost respect.

Since knowing Mali he has shown such an open approach to progression and always believes in having a more mystical approach in many of his productions. This way it leaves room to hold great anticipation of knowing that even though you may think you know what is coming there's always something to expect differently to the last thing you've heard!

The tune entitled 'Smite Dem' is a fully self-produced release that we had made entirely in a remote collaboration style between both our own studios (Selah Dub Studio & Blak Nile Studio) where we had both decided on doing 2 different grooves on the project after initially working tirelessly on the original one drop groove version (which you can hear mixed on the first 2 mixes of the record). This is what set the way for inspirations with the dubs to let loose after one morning waking up and messaging Mali together a serious warrior style steppas pattern for the project. He did that without fail as that being his forte. At this stage it then led us to both be very ecstatic with the outcome of the creation at hand.

With great honour we are pleased to share with you the fully completed first wave of collaborations from this booming link-up ready to blaze up plenty of sessions worldwide! The message is here and the word is clear; let us live in love and not have any fears! Keep your shining light bright for all mankind, oh Jah!
